About Excel Pilates Annapolis
At Excel Pilates Annapolis, we love to share the power and depth of the original – classical Pilates Method. We are a locally owned and operated traditional Pilates studio and have been servicing the Annapolis area including Severna Park, Arnold, and Crofton with the original, classical Pilates Method since 2002. We are the home of the Annapolis area’s only second-generation teacher.
Our highly educated and experienced teachers thrive on assisting clients to better understand their bodies from the inside out, meet their fitness goals and beyond, and FEEL REALLY GREAT in their bodies and mind. It’s our mission to empower all participants in the Pilates Method. Our studio environment is professional, motivating and supportive.

Studio Hours: Sessions are scheduled by appointment only Monday through Friday. Administrative hours are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Pilates Sessions
Individual
Each One-on-One session is 50 minutes in length and involves the full Pilates Method utilizing both mat and apparatus exercises. This is the recommended way to start Pilates.
One-on-One Details
Duet
Each Duet session is 50 minutes in length and involves the full Pilates Method utilizing both mat and apparatus exercises. Two individuals. Prior Pilates experience is required for appropriate level matching.

Trio
Each Trio session is 50 minutes in length and involves the full Pilates Method utilizing both mat and apparatus exercises. Minimum of 3 people. Prior Pilates experience for appropriate level matching.

Teacher Training
The Excel Pilates Teacher Training Program is dedicated to providing high-quality training in the original work of Joseph H. Pilates. Our comprehensive and in-depth one-year training program requires a minimum of 700 hours of hands-on training in all levels of the Pilates mat and apparatus work. Apprenticeship involves seminars, observations, and practice teaching. In addition to Pilates exercises, seminar topics cover anatomy, teaching skills, and session design. The program involves readings, case studies, powerhouse-hour workshops, free solo workouts, teaching feedback, and a Pilates teaching manual. There are prerequisites and testing requirements.
Our mission is to preserve and share the life’s work of Joseph Pilates with the integrity and spirit in which it was taught to us as second-generation teachers. Joseph Pilates spent a lifetime developing his method of physical and mental conditioning. The sophistication of his work necessitates intense study.
